Every year thousands of young persons between the ages of 15 and 19 years participate in Rotary’s Youth Exchange Programme.
Youth Exchange students spend a week or more with families of the host club in another country. These young ambassadors bring the world closer together by learning about the host country, its culture and ideas. While learning, the students also give insight into their native country.
Exchanges occur between any two countries where there are Rotary Clubs.
The San Fernando Rotary Club has recognized the importance of the programme and, mainly through the efforts of Rotarian John Ferguson over the last ten years, arranged exchanges through ten Rotary Clubs.
