In 1986, under the stewardship of President Calvin Benjamin, the Club undertook the task of holding a two-car raffle. The first prize was a Nissan Laurel and the second prize was a Laser motor car. Among the many other valuable prizes to be won were a motor scooter, television, stove and a radio.
The raffle was run over a period of six months with Rotarians selling tickets at various malls in Trinidad. The draw took place at a specially held bazaar at the Gulf City Complex.
Gross sales amounted to approximately $215,000 with net proceeds of $145,000.
